I am a Washington state native, born in Wenatchee, WA, and raised in East Wenatchee. After graduating from Eastmont High School, I went to Central Washington University in Ellensburg. The original plan was to be a music major, but for some reason, that after 30 years I still can’t figure out, my degree was in Business Administration – Finance. From there it was off to the big city, or at least the major metropolitan region of Seattle-Tacoma-Everett. My career stared in consumer finance and moved into mortgage lending and real estate for 30 years. With the exception of one year in the Tri Cities area (Richland-Pasco-Kennewick), I have been in the Seattle area since.
As I approached my 50th birthday, I began to take stock of where my life was, where it was headed, and if that was the direction I wanted to continue. The answer was a resounding “NO!” I have always wanted to teach and coach; these were my favorite activities in my corporate job and as I moved through the real estate business. After the financial crisis of 2008, I decided I wasn’t all that interested in real estate any longer (or that I had really been all that interested in the first place).
After taking a good hard look at my life, I decided to shake it up a bit. I moved to West Seattle from Federal Way after two decades there, I got my coach training, and I started to bring some life to my soul. What I have come to know about myself is that I want to help people grow their lives, really transform their lives.
Today I work with clients who are working to transform their lives. Getting in touch with who they are. Coming home to their spirit. I call my practice “The Journey Home Coaching” because that is what I experienced for myself as I got back in touch with me.
Travel has always been a passion. In 2014 I did what I called my “Ancestral Homeland Tour” of the region about 70% of my paternal ancestors are from. This trip is documented on this blog. I also share insights on travel and tips that I have learned over the last 15 years of extensive travels.
I am about helping people come home to themselves through coaching, the writings on my blog, the books that are coming, and through the exploration of this planet.
